Terms of sale and refund policy

These terms cover buying Guardian Pro. The free checker needs no purchase and no account; the privacy policy covers both.
Who provides it and who sells it
Wash-Sale Guardian (“we”), washsaleguardian.com, provides Guardian Pro and its license key. Contact: hello@washsaleguardian.com.
It is sold through Link: Sold through Link, LLC (“Link”), a Stripe affiliate, 354 Oyster Point Boulevard, South San Francisco, California 94080, is the merchant of record for your purchase and, for tax purposes, is treated as supplying Guardian Pro to you. Link charges your payment method, calculates any sales tax or VAT on the purchase and collects it where required, and emails your receipt. At checkout you also accept Link's terms and Link's privacy policy, which cover the payment. We stay responsible for Guardian Pro itself: delivering your key, what it does, and our refund policy below.
What you buy
A license to use Guardian Pro (the Form 8949 worksheet, its CSV and its print view) in the app on this site, for the tax year or years the license names, for your own tax records. What Guardian Pro includes.
Price and payment
- Prices are in US dollars (USD) and don't include tax. Checkout adds any sales tax or VAT Link calculates for your address and shows the full amount, tax included, before you pay. If checkout offers to charge you in your local currency instead, paying in it is optional, and Link converts the price at an exchange rate that includes a markup.
- Payment is one-time; nothing renews.
- You pay on Stripe's checkout page, and Link charges your payment method; we never see your card number. Stripe chooses which payment methods checkout offers: cards, and depending on your device and location, others such as Apple Pay, Google Pay or Cash App Pay.
- Link emails you the receipt. On a card statement, the charge shows as LINK.COM* WSGUARDIAN, though some banks display it differently.
Delivery
- Your license key appears on this site right after payment. Keep a copy: you can paste it into any browser.
Refunds and disputes
A full refund within 30 days of purchase, on request to hello@washsaleguardian.com. Any refund of the payment, or a card dispute your bank decides in your favor (the payment is returned to you), ends the license.
Link can also refund you under its own refund policy for purchases sold through it, if you ask Link within 60 days of payment: for example if you didn't receive Guardian Pro, it is significantly not as described, or the payment wasn't authorized or was duplicated. Where our policy is more restrictive than Link's for your case, Link's controls.
If a charge looks wrong or you didn't get your license key, email hello@washsaleguardian.com first. We answer within 3 business days, send your key if it didn't reach you, and refund under this policy, so there's no need to dispute the charge with your bank.
If you do dispute the charge, Stripe and Link handle the dispute, not us.
Who can buy it
Guardian Pro is for US federal tax returns, including those of Americans living abroad. You can buy it from outside the US.
Your license key
Anyone who has your key can unlock Guardian Pro for its tax year, so keep it to yourself. We can disable a key that is shared publicly. What the app sends to check the key is on the privacy page.
Not tax advice; no warranty
Wash-Sale Guardian is an informational tool: it conservatively flags likely wash-sale situations from data you provide, in your browser. It is not tax advice. The worksheet is provided as is. Check it with your 1099-B and a tax professional. Our liability is limited to the price you paid.
Changes
We may update these terms; the version on this page when you bought applies to your purchase.
